Ahh big day tomorrow- I'm moving house and then I'm going to see U2!! THE EDGE GAH!!!

After I graduated from high school a friend and I moved to Ireland for a year. Somewhere in that year I ended up working on a farm in Cork in Southern Ireland, that's a whole other story for another day, however on St. Patricks day we went out to a tiny village and hiked along these great barren cliffs and sat and ate lunch on the edge and looked out at the ocean. Being a good prairie girl I had never seen open ocean like this. I remember thinking that i'd never seen anything that huge- you could see the curvature of the earth and if I got in a boat and went straight the next thing I would hit would be Antarctica. It was overwhelming and beautiful and made me feel so small.
These photos by Guy Sargent reminded me so much of that day.

Don't you find that everything happens all at once? This last week and the coming week are crazy busy and i've been sick with a nasty cold so pardon if my posts are sparse! x

Happy Weekend-Hope it's bright and colourful!

things i've been a likin' (birthday edition!)

I get so excited at the end of May because there seems to be an abundance of birthdays! Seriously like everyday there's like two birthdays to celebrate (mine included) and it's just so much fun!
Here's some required celebrating essentials!

Birthday girl needs some major hair accessories!

Flowers (and maybe also the birthday girl should treat themselves to something from Anthropologie!?)

Balloons! Lots of 'em!

and a giant scrumptious cake!
P.S Happy Birthday to my real life and blogging friend Christy- you're the best! xo

I love this time of year when everything is so lush and green. It's funny how you think summer is never going to come and then one morning you just wake up and it's here and it's like everything has magically changed overnight!

I feel like lately the concept of 'Street Style' blogs have changed so much- I used to find blogs like 'The Sartorialist' fascinating to look at but, it seems like so much of it now is Fashion Week photos and celebrity style which, don't get me wrong, is great however it's hard to find inspiration from an outfit when it cost thousands of dollars and frankly is not (or probably never will be) in my budget. It also feels like more and more people are starting to master that street style look and pictures begin to look the same over and over again.
That being said there are still great street style blogs out there (one of my favs. is Urban Weeds) and 'The Sartorialist' often gets it so right, like this girl- her outfit is fresh and young but so unique to her! Love it!

So true...more nice things here.

I was looking at one of my favourite blogs yesterday and came upon this lovely book 'Enviroments' by Sarah Caldwell and photographed by Olga Bennett. It features various artists studios around Melbourne. I love the warmth and richness to the photos.
